Economic plans-you be the judge.

Please note this is a reply to the original letter toward the bottom of the page....good luck reading it all. But please try.

What a surprise another uninformed over onioned war man....I too am a war man. But I am not afraid to admit when I am either wrong or simply don't have all of the facts in the matter. Although I wanted to read all of the letter from the follower, I simply had better things to do like research and become informed even more than I already am. From what I did read I will submit something in rebuttal, please excuse me if I allow the truth and facts cloud any ones judgment in these matters. I have sent along the copy/paste TAX proposal from John McCain's campaign web-page go look for yourselves as this is truly all he has.(SEE BELOW) I will BOLD and Italicize it for you to better understand. You be the judge. If any of you have trouble following all the big words let me know, I will try to help. Below is also link to Obama's plan, followed by the actual text from McCain's campaign page.

McCain's plan.
Taxes: Simpler, Fair, Pro-Growth and Competitive
Pro-Growth Tax Policy
Keep Tax Rates Low: Entrepreneurs are at the heart of American innovation, growth and prosperity. Entrepreneurs create the ultimate job security - a new, better opportunity if your current job goes away. Entrepreneurs should not be taxed into submission. John McCain will keep the top tax rate at 35 percent, maintain the 15 percent rates on dividends and capital gains, and phase-out the Alternative Minimum Tax. Small businesses are the heart of job growth; raising taxes on them hurts every worker. Cut The Corporate Tax Rate From 35 To 25 Percent: A lower corporate tax rate is essential to keeping good jobs in the United States. America was once a low-tax business environment, but as our trade partners lowered their rates, America failed to keep pace. We now have the second highest corporate tax rate in the world, making America a less attractive place for companies to do business. American workers deserve the chance to make fine products here and sell them around the globe. Allow First-Year Deduction, Or "Expensing", Of Equipment And Technology Investments: American workers need the finest technologies to compete. Expensing of equipment and technology will provide an immediate boost to capital expenditures and reward investments in cutting-edge technologies. Establish Permanent Tax Credit Equal To 10 Percent Of Wages Spent On R&D: This reform will simplify the tax code, reward activity in the United States, and make us more competitive with other countries. A permanent credit will provide an incentive to innovate and remove uncertainty. At a time when our companies need to be more competitive, we need to provide a permanent incentive to innovate, and remove the uncertainty now hanging over businesses as they make R&D investment decisions.
Innovation Tax Policy
Ban Internet Taxes: John McCain believes we must make a farsighted, robust, and fervent commitment to innovation and new technologies to sustain our global competitiveness, meet our national security challenges, achieve less costly and more effective health care, reduce dangerous dependence on foreign sources of oil, and raise the quality of education in the United States. John McCain has been a leader in keeping the Internet free of taxes. As President, he will seek a permanent ban on taxes that threaten this engine of economic growth and prosperity. Ban New Cell Phone Taxes: John McCain understands that the same people that would tax e-mail will tax every text message - and even 911 calls. John McCain will prohibit new cellular telephone taxes.

This is the original letter that sparked all of this. It is from a lost friend of mine.

This is from Bart, a guy that I used to work with here at GFC. He is a retired colonel from the US Army. Just thought I would pass this along ... :)

The "politics of personal destruction" that we have seen in action
against
Palin is designed to divert voters from thinking about the true nature of
who Obama is and what the Democrats now represent. Obama's economic
"concepts" are exactly what he has been indoctrinated to believe by
the
schools and institutions he attended. He is so far to the left that he is
practically indistinguishable economically from a Marxist or an Islamist.
He has never actually run a business, of course, so he really does not know
this stuff does not work. He also clearly believes that "some pigs are
more
equal than others".
It is this fundamental feature of Obama that makes him so unacceptable to
middle America. His vision for raising taxes is extreme. One cannot
"double
or triple" capital gains, raise fuel taxes, farm taxes, double social
security taxes, raise corporate income taxes, inheritance/death taxes, add
windfall profit taxes on the evil oil companies, raise import taxes / export
taxes, and repeal the Bush tax cuts without raising taxes / living costs on
everyone in the country PERIOD. You cannot punish the very businesses that
create jobs without driving those businesses and jobs away. The populist
message that he will only raise taxes on the rich is just a con.
Why is being successful ridiculed by Obama? Why is Obama critical of Cindy
McCain's family wealth that must make John McCain "out of touch"
with
Americans? Obama has been indoctrinated to despise business. He has been
taught to believe that all wealth comes from government activity and that
private property ownership is bad. He has toyed with the idea of 100% taxes
that "might work if the government gives you back what you need".
The
amount of outright Communist / Marxist teaching going on in college
classrooms today is astonishing. I have put three kids through university
and I have been hearing about it in detail for the last 15 years. I
overheard a high school kid comment to his buddy just the other day about
"damn capitalism"...
Obama himself is pretty good evidence that the Ivy League has become among
the worst places in America to go to for an education - better to call it
indoctrination. I had a daughter-in-law volunteer in DC on a Democratic
Party team of some sort. She was shocked stating that "behind closed doors
these people are crazy. They hate the United States. They want to destroy
it". Democratic party staffers still work under Ernesto "Che"
Guevara
posters viewing themselves as "revolutionaries" trying to bring down
the
United States. To them the USA is the problem with the world... Democrats
say this in many forms publically all the time.
The United States derives its wealth from Capitalism and Free Markets. For
every corporate / free market evil that the left rails against, the net
result of each and every one of Obama's proposals is to concentrate (not
solve - make worse) those same problems on a vast scale at the federal
government level ruled by an "inside the beltway elite" with no
oversight at
all. Think of Fannie Mae & Freddy Mac and their out-of-control activities;
that is nothing compared to what Democrats have in mind.
It is very relevant to note that Islam also explicitly hates capitalism,
free markets, and free choice. Mainstream Islam is NOT compatible with the
U.S. Constitution or free market capitalism and to say otherwise is just
head-in-the-sand political correctness. This is the basis for the "Unholy
Alliance" between the left and Islam. By his own words, Obama has been
influenced by Islam even if he claims to be Christian. By the way, the
largest source of new funds going into Harvard today is from the Saudis...
I can scarcely believe then, that someone sworn to defend the Constitution
of the United States could be so easily fooled into arguing in support of
Obama. By diverting attention with petty personal attacks against someone
like Palin with Democrats now actually arguing that a woman should not work
with a baby at home, by arguing in support of Obama's
"qualifications", the
left hopes to avoid a conversation about economics, about energy, about how
to make free markets and capitalism work better, about how to enable real
equal opportunity.
The left's arguments have no bounds. They do not appear to make any sense
unless one realizes their underlying premise. It is not about "the
worker".
It is not about education or healthcare. It is not about "black
equality".
It is not about "women's equality". It is all about vilifying big
business
in support of a movement to socialism and communism so as to create a
concentration of power controlled by an indoctrinated elite. Blacks and
feminists are actually just pawns in this battle and fodder for mass
consumption.
It is too bad that so many Americans apparently have little comprehension of
what is going on. The populist "worker's paradise" message that
the
government is going to take care of you at the expense of someone else has
always been addictive and just like heroin totally destructive. It is
rather tragic that some on this forum could also be so misguided.
