From Russia with OIL.

....South Ossetia broke from Georgia in the early 1990s and has since been a constant source of friction between Georgia and Russia. The Georgian government accuses Moscow of wanting to take over South Ossetia....
Actually most of South Ossetia wants to be Russia again, that is the reason Russian troops were there now, to defend the area from Georgia.
Turns out the big concern for the west/US, is oil supplies and supply lines in the region. What a shock.
